Introduction to the First LSRP Management Tool [VIDEO]

Frank Preve of Aldoa, will introduce the First LSRP/Environmental Project Management Platform for Cases in New Jersey. LSRPs obligations require management of regulatory and mandatory timeframes, not just the milestone requirements for RI and RA, but also Receptor Evaluations, Vapor Intrusion Investigations and IEC Reporting.

This database actively manages all the timeframes and has the capability to add deadlines to your calendar, send reminders and track task management of your time. CPES has joined with Aldoa to introduce LSRPs to this new product.

The Digital Assistant LSRPs Have Been Waiting For: Inside Aldoa, New Jersey’s First End-to-End Project-Management Platform

Recap of the June 2023 CPES “Hot Topic” session with Frank Preve, co-founder of Aldoa

Why another piece of software?

Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) live and die by clocks and checklists. A single missed deadline—an IEC report, a vapor-intrusion resample, a biennial certification—can unravel months of technical work and invite painful enforcement. Yet the industry’s default tools are still Outlook reminders, Excel trackers and colour-coded wall calendars.

That disconnect is what pushed Silicon-Valley product veteran Frank Preve (ex-Slack, Qualia) to build Aldoa, the first project-management and compliance platform designed only for New Jersey environmental cases. In June Frank joined CPES to give LSRPs their first public tour.

What makes Aldoa different?

Legacy approachAldoa approach
Dozens of individual spreadsheets—one for budgets, one for RAP dates, one for subcontractor invoicesSingle cloud workspace where projects, contacts, timeframes, tasks and costs live side-by-side
Manual date maths (“120 days from trigger date… wait, was that business days?”)Auto-generated regulatory calendars for SPCC, PA/SI, RI, IEC, VI, RAP and permit cycles—complete with citations
“Push” everything into Outlook and hope reminders fireBuilt-in notification engine that e-mails or pings you X days before any deadline (firm-wide and personal settings)
Re-enter data into QuickBooks, then hand-mark-up vendor billsTwo-way QuickBooks sync plus invoice builder that handles mark-ups, phases and lump-sum tasks
Gigabyte report appendices scattered across shared drivesUnlimited document storage per project — in its own isolated, encrypted AWS database

A two-minute guided tour

  1. Pick a project tab. Everything on the left-hand rail—properties, contacts, tasks, budget, compliance—instantly filters to that case.
  2. Set the trigger date. Choose ISRA change-of-ownership, spill act notice or UST closure. Aldoa calculates every mandatory and regulatory timeframe—popping them onto the project Gantt and your personal dashboard.
  3. Add exceptions on the fly. Click “IEC” or “L NAPL,” enter the discovery date, and Aldoa spawns the 14-day, 60-day and 1-year IEC sub-deadlines—again with statutory cites.
  4. Spin up the budget. Import your phases (PA, SI, RI, RAP) or load a template. Tie time-sheet entries and subcontractor bills to a phase; the profit-and-loss dash updates in real time.
  5. Generate the invoice. Pick the period, tick the labour entries, add vendor receipts, apply a 15 % mark-up (hidden from the client) and export to QuickBooks—or PDF it straight from Aldoa.
  6. Sleep better. When the next biennial certification is 90 days out, you’ll get the first heads-up automatically.

Security & pricing

Architecture: Each client gets a dedicated, fully encrypted MongoDB cluster on AWS; all traffic is SSL.

Cost: List USD $50 /user/month; tiers drop to $30 /user/month for 10 + seats. No set-up fee—Aldoa pre-loads every PI/case from DEP DataMiner before you log in.

Updates: Code pushes weekly (overnight, no downtime).

Where it’s headed next

Preve says the roadmap includes:

  • Lab-data manager that ingests EDDs and auto-flags exceedances
  • Client/subcontractor portal for real-time doc sharing
  • Connecticut, Massachusetts LSP and PA Act 2 rule-sets once the Jersey launch stabilises

Aldoa isn’t generic project software with an “environmental” sticker

It was coded around NJDEP regs and the way LSRPs actually work. If your current toolkit is a tangle of Excel, Outlook and anxiety, this may be the first platform that lets you trade compliance stress for genuine project management.
